Gnarls Barkley – Gone Daddy Gone

When I see you.
A thousand eyes turnin’ blue.

Hot Chick Sunbathing With Flea
A rock band made of mites and ticks follow their leader who fell in love with a human woman. For the tragic end, play the video. For the happy end, open the preview.

Gnarls Barkley is the musical collaboration between Brian Burton AKA Danger Mouse and Thomas Callaway AKA Cee-Lo Green.

Gone Daddy Gone is a 1982 song written by Gordon Gano and originally recorded by his group the Violent Femmes for their 1982 eponymous debut album.

Gnarls Barkley’s version was released with Who Cares as a double A-Side single from the album St. Elsewhere, in November 2006.

The music video has been directed by Chris Milk and produced by Barbara Benson at Radical Media.

Editor: Kevin Zimmerman at Whitehouse. Director of photography: Eric Schmidt. Animation: Sabotage.

One inspiration for the “photo-mated” part of the video might have been this French AIDS awareness campaign for AIDES.

Also, there was a (rather different) music video with the band actually residing in the pubic hair of some chick, until she epilates. Can anybody name it?

A funny thing: I managed to achieve the same effect while playing with the settings of the time-spatial denoiser in AVI Synth. Since the clip was that "Money Porn" ad, the clip, for a couple of seconds, actually looked like an origami version of that Fight Club scene.
