Speak your Mind: Thumbnails or Rotator?

You might have noticed that both images on Sita are rotating: if you reload the page, they change.

Some time ago, visitor Stellar Drift asked for a series of thumbnail, somewhat like I did in the post for Your Woman.

I was thinking that adding a javascript that reload the image when you hover on it with the mouse for some time, would be a good surrogate. What do you think?

In other news: the Automaton can now guess download links from watch links. It just look for embedded MP4 or MOV files by now, but I can make it more sophisticated later.

Pareri?

Altre notizie: l’Automaton ora può trovare i link “download” a partire dai link “watch”. Per ora si limita a cercare gli “embed” MP4 o MOV, ma posso migliorarlo in seguito.

Hmm.. i prefer some litte thumbnails instead, that way we can see all the images in on view

There are some things I don't like about thumbnail sheets.
One is that the images are chosen randomly (but, I guess, some software other than MPC can easily overcome this).
Another is spoiler: I'm not personally worried about it, but a lot of people would). This can be solved by linking the thumbnail sheet rather than showing it.
Last but not least, I'm worried that some good shorts might be dropped just because they're not visually appealing: and this cannot be solved.

Well, since I suggested it I am of course grateful for anything you do in that direction :)

Well, at the moment is Thumbs 2 – Rotator 0
I've already modified the rotator to make it more random and less tricky to use, but a little less usable as a previewer, so I guess I'll go for the thumbsheet.
But perhaps I can post the question on Facebook: I never find a use for my group. Or maybe I should open an account on GetSatisfaction for these things.

It would be better if it's a thumbnails sheet with only the bests images from the film. But it's sure this is a spoiler.
The rotator is not a bad way if you choose the best screen captures as usual, this is a more discret spoiler.
For me it'll not change anything or not so much, I watch almost all your posts :)
otherwise why not put the two ?

Basically the rotator require more time for coding, while the thumbs are a one click goodie. I'm going to post the thumbs from MPC, then we'll see.

    Hi, Dek!

1st of all, check that short called "Hemlock"
    http://www.koreus.com/video/hemlock.html#
Predictable as hell but quite good!

    Here's "Virgile"
    http://www.koreus.com/video/virgile.html
I liked it but I thought the end was quite weak.

As I can't seem to remember if I sent you "Mon ami Charly", here it is (again?):
    http://www.koreus.com/video/mon-ami-charly.html
Very good, especially for the 2nd half of the short (where everything is not what it seems to be)…

    A PES stop motion
    http://www.gamaniak.com/video-3928-fireworks-pes.html
They are always great, their shorts…

And finally, "The Terrible Thing of Alpha-9"
    http://www.koreus.com/video/terrible-thing-alpha-9.html
It reminded me so much of a SAMURAI JACK episode…

Concerning your question, I'd prefer a rotator because I just don't like watching spoilers of a video = one of the reason I keep coming here is that I'm being surprised every time!

    Ciao,

    T.

With Firefox 3.5 out now, could we have HTML5 Video, instead!?
