In 1947, a test pilot who will risk his life to break the sound barrier, is forced to question his reasons and abilities by a strange yet familiar man.

A Lonely Sky mixes real action and a big dose of computer graphics. A solid script and a little bit of supernatural complete this yummy recipe.

Even though the visual effects are perfectly crafted, they never stole the show from the real stars: the heroes of the skies, so brave and passionately devoted to their dreams. (Thanks to 7di9 for the comment.)

A Lonely Sky is a short movie produced by Image Now Films in association with Zanita Films, and starring Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey, The Good Shepherd), Paudge Behan (Veronica Guerin) and Padraic Delaney (The Wind that Shakes the Barley).

The film has been written and directed by Nick Ryan, here before as the producer of The Silent City. Graduating from Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design in 1991, he worked in different areas of television production and multi-media. In 1995 he co-founded Image Now Films. (Source: Zanita Films)

The song in the soundtrack is If I didn’t care, as originally sung by The Ink Spots. You may have heard this song, written by Jack Lawrence, in the opening credits for The Shawshank Redemption.

A Lonely Sky fonde azione dal vivo e una buona dose di computer grafica. Una solida sceneggiatura e un po’ di soprannaturale completano la ricetta.

Laureatosi al Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design nel 1991, ha lavorato in diversi settori della produzione televisiva e multimediale. Nel 1995 è stato fra i fondatori di Image Now Films.
