SEM ASSINK – Hold The Line

Love isn’t always on time…

I’ve posted this on Ticklebooth, Cine Clasico, Milk and Cookies, and probably somewhere else. Now there’s a high quality clip out there, so it’s time to close the circle.

Hold the Line is an animation about four soldiers marching through the remains of a ruined world. Discipline keeps them together. When they are ambushed by an invisible foe, the men come up with the ultimate tactic to take him out.”

The film was written, directed and designed by Sem Assink, produced by Steven Geldof at the NFTA (Netherlands Film and Television Academy), where Hold the Line premiered on June 2005.

Niels de Groen assisted Sem in modeling, animation and compositing. Dusan Pektovic edited the movie. Jeroen Damen and Donovan Kemper did sounds and effects.

Jeroen Damen e Donovan Kemper, suoni ed effetti.

    Mi do’ da fare! :D

My name is Waroj Sriwattana, I am currently enrolled in the Sound Design program at Vancouver Film School. For our final project I have to look for a video that inspires and fascinates me and re-make the soundtrack. I love comedy and funny videos and I would love to work on a comedy piece. I’m most intrigued by your short film, Gopher Broke, and I would love to re-make the sound as my final/graduation project.

If permitted, I would be designing sound effects, foley, special effects, and music for the whole film, and mixing it in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. And I would be more than happy to send you a copy when it’s done!

There will be no commercial exploitation whatsoever, the revised version would only be show at my graduation, and possibly on the VFS website like this:

    http://www.vfs.com/gallery.php?id=11&category_id=23&project_id=1641&show=all

Do you think this would be permissible? Please let me know if you’re open to allowing me to re-work your film, if so there is some paperwork from the school I’ll need to send you.

Hope to hear from you soon. Have a good day.
