DJ KRUSH – Still Island

Take a look at this hypnotic combination of music and images. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to find out informations on who did the promo. The director is Toshihiko Morosawa, as reported in the comments.

DJ Krush (real name: Hideaki Ishi) is a turntable wizard born in Tokyo. Inspired to the hip-hop movement, he developed a very peculiar style that mixes blues phrases, jazzy tunes, traditional japanese instruments. And, obviously, turn table scratchings!

Still Island is included in his latest album, Jaku, released in 2004 for Sony Music. The song features Shuuzan Morita, a master player of shakuhachi, traditional japanese flute.

    Hello!

“Still island” is one of the videos that I didn’t have till now..Thanks you very much for your contribution!
Hideaki Ishi’s knows that his music is only, I classify it like Trip hop, but of course the best definition is “dj krush music” hehe..the king of this type of music, really.
Only a note: the correct name of the album isn’t “Jazu” is “Jaku”..
    Cheers,
    big up
