| Awesome clip produced by Bullet Films and directed by David Slade in January 2002 in South Africa, for the song that you certainly know for being included in The Matrix OST. A man runs desperately (to avoid some catastrophic event?) in a world where everything seems to go backwards. We don’t know why. Why should we know?
Rob Dougan, who started as Rob D, is a genre-blending music composer. Mixing the sound of orchestral film music, the beat of club trip-hop, and bluesy vocals, he is only tangentially relatable to electronic music. (Source: Wikipedia) Before the inclusion in The Matrix OST (1999), the song first appeared on a compilation released by RDR, a short lived label founded by the artist himself. The Clubbed to Death CD single was realesed back in 1995 for the Mo’Wax label. You can also found the “Kurayamino variation” on the Furious Angels album, realesed in 2002. After graduating with a BA hons fine arts degree in Sheffield, England, David Slade began as a journalist before moving into directing. Un gran video prodotto da Bullet Films e diretto da David Slade nel gennaio 2002 in Sudafrica, per il pezzo che certamente conoscerete data l’inclusione nella OST di Matrix. Un uomo corre disperatamente (per evitare un qualche evento catastrofico?) in un mondo in cui tutto sembra muoversi al contrario. Non sappiamo perche. Perche’ dovremmo?
Rob Dougan, agli inizi Rob D, e’ un compositore che fonde generi diversi: orchestrazioni di carattere cinematografico, il beat del trip-hop, parti vocali blueseggianti; solo di riflesso lo si puo’ accostare alla musica elettronica. (Fonte: Wikipedia) Prima dell’inclusione in The Matrix OST (1999), il pezzo era apparso su una compilation uscita per RDR, etichetta dalla vita breve fondata dall’artista stesso. Il singolo Clubbed to Death e’ uscito nel 1995 per Mo’Wax. Il pezzo si trova anche (nella versione “Kurayamino variation”) su Furious Angels, album uscito nel 2002. Dopo la laurea con master in belle arti a Sheffield, Inghilterra, David Slade inizia come giornalista prima di passare alla regia.
